Military Veteran Application Information

Are you a Veteran?

We encourage all veterans to apply! You may qualify if you meet one of the following criteria:

  • Active Duty: 3 years of active duty in the U.S. Armed Forces with an honorable discharge within the past 5 years.
  • Reserve Service: 6 years of U.S. military reserve service, currently serving or with an honorable discharge within the past 2 years.
  • Technical Training: Honorable discharge and completion of military technical training in an applicable Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) for the commercial and/or industrial electrical construction industry, with at least 2 years of documented military experience in that MOS within the past 5 years. These individuals may qualify for direct entry.

VETERANS & PRE-APPRENTICESHIP

Veterans who can verify that they have completed a military veteran-focused and structured pre-apprenticeship training program which meets the minimum requirements established by the electrical training ALLIANCE, such as the Veterans Electrical Entry Program (VEEP), may qualify for Direct Entry or Direct Interview.

You will need to complete the application online and upload the documents that are required.

How can I find out if I can use my Veterans benefits towards the apprenticeship??

You are eligible to use the GI Bill.
Once accepted into the apprenticeship program, contact the VA to obtain a Certificate of Eligibility. After receiving the certificate, email it to office@uteta.org.

When my Benefits are approved, what do I do next?

Once your benefits are approved and you have submitted your information to Office@uteta.org, you must begin submitting a monthly work hour report.

  • This report is separate from your online hour reporting.
    Use the appropriate form from the Forms page for your work hours.
  • Complete the form each month and email it to office@uteta.org.
  • Submit the report at the beginning of each month, even if you did not work during that period.
